We are now seeking a talented and experienced Chief Engineer with Avionics experience to join our team and lead engineering projects requiring Part 21 Subpart J expertise.
As a Chief Engineer within Expleo's Avionics division, you will oversee the design, development, and certification of avionics systems and ensure compliance with EASA Part 21 Subpart J requirements. This is a senior leadership role, requiring deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver world-class solutions for our aerospace clients.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Act as the technical authority for avionics engineering projects within Expleo.
- Provide strategic direction on avionics design, development, and certification.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams across multiple locations.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all projects comply with EASA Part 21 Subpart J requirements and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Engage with certification authorities such as EASA, FAA, and other national aviation bodies.
- Support the maintenance and extension of Expleo's Design Organisation Approval (DOA).
Project Delivery
- Oversee the successful delivery of avionics engineering projects, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Manage technical risks, ensure robust problem-solving approaches, and maintain engineering excellence.
- Drive customer satisfaction by aligning project outcomes with client expectations.
Innovation and Development
- Promote innovation in avionics technologies, fostering a forward-thinking culture within the team.
- Identify and integrate emerging trends, such as digital twins, automation, and advanced avionics software.
- Support business development by contributing technical expertise to bids and proposals.
Collaboration and Communication
- Serve as the primary technical interface for internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners.
- Collaborate with other Expleo departments and global teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Represent Expleo in industry forums and at customer meetings as a subject matter expert.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in avionics engineering, with significant exposure to leadership roles.
- Extensive experience with EASA Part 21 Subpart J, including design and certification activities.
- Strong technical background in avionics systems, including hardware, software, and system integration.
- Proven experience working in a DOA environment and engaging with regulatory bodies.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex engineering projects in aerospace.
